The biotic reports layer represents submissions to the Monterey County Planning and Building Inspection Dept. (PBI) of surveys to determine the presence of any endangered plants and animals in a project area. The point locations in this layer are approximations of the actual survey location. The hardcopy reports should be referenced for specific survey locations and extents.
The attributes of this layer were chosen in the interests of completeness and processing time. As much information as possible has been presented without spending an unreasonable amount of time on the creation process. The attributes include: Report author, Report Title, Coverage, APN, Library Number, Habitat, Impacts, Recommendations, Species of Concern, Date of Report and Planning File Number. The "Species of Concern" field lists any species named in the report as being listed as rare or endangered on any list. Some authors choose to use various rare and endagered species lists.
This layer was developed to assist in the processing of planning and building permits.
