 "description": "This HILLSHADE Model was derived using the HILLSHADE tool in ArcGIS 9.2. The source data is described below:\nThe U.S. Geological Survey has developed a National Elevation Dataset (NED). \t\tThe NED is a seamless mosaic of best-available elevation data. The 7.5-minute \t\televation data for the conterminous United States are the primary initial source \t\tdata. In addition to the availability of complete 7.5-minute data, efficient \t\tprocessing methods were developed to filter production artifacts in the existing \t\tdata, convert to the NAD83 datum, edge-match, and fill slivers of missing data \t\tat quadrangle seams. One of the effects of the NED processing steps is a \t\tmuch-improved base of elevation data for calculating slope and hydrologic \t\tderivatives. The specifications for the NED 1 arc second and 1/3 arc second data \t\tare: \t\tGeographic coordinate system\t\tHorizontal datum of NAD83, except for AK which is NAD27 \t\tVertical datum of NAVD88, except for AK which is NAVD29 \t\tZ units of meters  NOTE: MONTEREY COUNTY STAFF HAS REPROJECTED THIS DATA TO CA STATE PLANE ZONE 0404 (SURVEY FEET), AND CONVERTED THE Z VALUES TO TO U.S. SURVEY FEET.",
